About the Role

The General Manager will lead all aspects of the company’s Indianapolis operations, including production, supply chain, sales, finance, and team development. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving profitability, operational excellence, and cultural alignment across the organization. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, hands-on leader with a track record of growing industrial or building products businesses, building strong teams, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all functional areas of the business, including manufacturing, sales, supply chain, finance, and HR

  • Develop and execute business plans aligned with long-term growth and profitability goals

  • Oversee P&L and ensure achievement of revenue, margin, and EBITDA targets

  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and customer satisfaction

  • Lead, coach, and develop department leaders and cross-functional teams

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance customer service

  • Maintain strong customer and supplier relationships, identifying opportunities to grow market share

  • Collaborate with ownership or executive leadership on capital investments, expansion opportunities, and strategic initiatives

Key Performance Indicators

  • P&L performance (Revenue, EBITDA, Gross Margin)

  • On-time delivery and customer satisfaction metrics

  • Operational efficiency (OEE, productivity, cost savings)

  • Employee retention and engagement scores

  • Safety performance and compliance

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a General Manager or P&L ownership role

  • Proven track record of leading successful growth and operational turnaround initiatives

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and industrial distribution

  • Strong leadership, financial acumen, and strategic planning capabilities

  • Excellent communication and team development skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in the metals, construction products, or building materials industry

  • Lean/Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma certification

  • MBA or advanced business training

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $150,000 - $180,000

  • Performance-based bonus program
