Position Summary
The Senior Technician is a hands-on technical contributor supporting the Sustaining & Support team. This role is responsible for assisting in the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems and assemblies used in advanced EV infrastructure products.
This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure product quality, resolve hardware issues, and support the release of new and existing products. The role is based on-site at a contract manufacturing partner and plays a critical role in bridging engineering and production.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support for manufacturing, development, and repair of electronic components and assemblies
Perform functional and parametric testing of circuit boards and systems
Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigation down to the component level
Execute component-level repair using SMT and through-hole rework techniques
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Test, Manufacturing, and Operations teams
Assist in setup, calibration, and validation of test equipment and production fixtures
Develop and follow test plans, procedures, and documentation
Maintain detailed records of test results, issues, and corrective actions
Support pre-production builds, including materials organization and prototype assembly
Ensure high-quality workmanship through detailed visual inspection
Maintain a clean and organized lab/manufacturing workspace
Qualifications
Hands-on experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting
Ability to independently diagnose hardware issues using standard electronic test equipment
Experience with schematic analysis and debugging techniques
Proficiency in building and reworking PCBAs (surface mount and mixed technology)
Familiarity with electronic test software and integration processes
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Comfortable working in a lab or manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Linux tools
Skilled in using hand tools (pliers, screwdrivers, etc.)
Education & Experience
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, or manufacturing support
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
